Trek Away Team

Umm... where is the away team, right? I thought it would be fun to update the file as they "beam in", or rather, as I complete each figure. This is a commission for , an away team he created beaming down to a strange planet. Since I'm doing the figure lines individually on seperate pieces of paper, I painted the background first. And as the figures get drawn and colored, I'll paste them in one at a time. AND... I hope to make an animated gif or a flash of the beaming in when the whole thing is done. So, for now, here is yet-to-be-named alien planet, away team standing by.

CMDR Val “Volcano” Santorini smirked as the Mavericks, the nickname of her crack extended away team, materialized around her. Her ship, the old light cruiser Texas, prowled above with overloaded photons held ready in her twin tubes buried deep in her exceedingly durable armored hull. Her orders were more than vague this time. The Admiral had literally told her to go here (literally where no human has gone before) and meet whatever shows up and escort it back to Earth. She had a feeling that “whatever” and whatever it wanted was going make her Mavericks earn their pay today.
