Yearning to Breathe Free by AdamMasterman Yearning to Breathe Free by AdamMasterman
I don't often make political art, but I am rather actively personally, and I made this picture to raise money for the ACLU (trying to arrange for print sales to go directly to them, if you are interested, stay tuned). In any case, I hope this message is more universal than partisan; my ancestors came here for the chance at a better life, and I bet that's true for most of us. Peace,

Adam

edit: another draft, less graphic, more illustrative.

I agree. We take in refugees, not because of their right, but because of their need, and our values.

The tyranny of distance, didn't stop the cavalier
So why should it stop me, I'll conquer and stay free

With silent lips. "Give me your tired, your poor,
Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,
The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.
Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me,
I lift my lamp beside the golden door!
